All we’ve ever hoped for was for these kids to enjoy music intimately. When I talk to other families who also have kids in piano I tend to hear “oh it’s such a struggle to get them to go”. That is a struggle we can not relate to. Their love for music and their enthusiasm is a product of Ms. Mary Jo's instruction. She has taught them in a way where they have felt safe to learn without judgement and pressure.

We would be hard pressed to come up with a better word to describe Mary Jo’s piano teaching than wonderful. She connects naturally with people of all ages in a very real and personal way. Her love of music and teaching music is both apparent and contagious. Ms. Mary Jo has taught our children piano for nearly a decade and during that time they have gained in both skill and confidence. Her effect on children spans far beyond the world of music. We would highly recommend Mary Jo to teach both children and adults music.

My daughter has enjoyed taking piano lessons with Ms. Mary Jo for 4 years. She has really enjoyed that Mary Jo really relates the piano to her interests and learning style, especially as those needs have grown and changed over the years. As my daughter’s interests have changed, Mary Jo has worked with her to find appropriate level pieces (ranging from simple classics, jazz, and popular) that are fun to play and provide new learning experiences.

Ms. Mary Jo is a fabulous piano teacher. My son is motivated and looks forward to his lessons. I appreciate the fact that Ms. Mary Jo encourages him to do research and learn about specific composers and pieces of music. When we went to our initial lesson I knew immediately that Mary Jo would be a good fit for both of my daughters. She is especially gifted at creating a positive rapport with children. As a result, my daughters have always strived to please her and love coming to piano lessons. My little girl Cayleigh loves Ms. Mary Jo. She enjoys singing and the different mini "music" sessions in just one lesson. Ms. Mary Jo keeps my daughter’s attention and makes playing piano and learning theory so much fun. Ms. Mary Jo also listens and communicates with parents. I often discuss practice concerns and find great comfort that we are on the same page and support each other. We are grateful to find such a wonderful teacher.
